Christoph Lengwiler received his doctorate from the University of Zurich with a dissertation on banking economics. He has been a lecturer in Banking and Finance at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts since 1987. In1997 he established the Institute for Financial Services Zug IFZ and was head of the Institute until 2017. His research and consulting activities focus on bank management and corporate governance as well as corporate and real estate finance. Among other things, he is the author of an annual study on the corporate governance of retail banks in Switzerland. From 2001 to 2016 he was a member of the Board of Directors of Luzerner Kantonalbank (from 2011 as Vice Chairman). He has been a member of the Bank Council of the Swiss National Bank since 2012 and a member of the Board of Directors of the Berner Kantonalbank since 2016. He is also Vice Chairman of swissVR, an association of board members.
