Inrate is assessing the ecological performance of Swiss electric power companies

Depending on their range of offers, services and activities, electric power companies can foster or hinder the development of a renewable power supply. Thus WWF and Pro Natura have asked the independent sustainability rating agency Inrate to compare the ecological performance of the biggest electric power companies in Switzerland.

For the rating, more than 30 criteria regarding the energy mix, the ecology of hydropower production, the marketing of green electricity, energy efficiency as well as a green corporate strategy have been evaluated.

The rating includes twelve of the biggest power providers in Switzerland serving end consumers as well as the SBB as one of the biggest consumers and producers of hydropower.

Besides the Inrate ratings, the complete report contains recommendations by WWF and Pro Natura.
