Centre Info is the first "carbon neutral" company in French-speaking Switzerland

5/29/2007

Centre Info received a certificate from "myclimate - The Climate Protection Partnership" guaranteeing that Centre Info offsets all its carbon emissions through projects financed by "myclimate". "myclimate" is one of the leading providers of carbon offsetting measures.

Total carbon emission of Centre Info amounted to 20.3 tons CO2eq. in 2006. 57% of the carbon emissions stem from business flights, 30% from electricity production and heating and the remaining 13% from business travels with train, employee commuting and paper. The carbon offsetting has been made through projects of myclimate, for example a project in Madagascar that reduces carbon emissions by replacing diesel generators with wind turbines to produce power.

Prior to compensating its carbon emissions, Centre Info took different measures to reduce its emissions: favouring conference calls and train travels, buying recycling paper and promoting public transport for employee commuting. Moreover, Centre Info took the decision to purchase exclusively green power from hydro, wind and solar sources.

Philippe Spicher, CEO of Centre Info, said: "Initiatives such as "myclimate” make it possible for companies to "walk the talk" on the issue of climate change. We are proud to be one of the first companies in Switzerland to offset carbon emissions". Beyond this initiative, Centre Info provides climate change solutions for asset managers through:

- The analysis tool envIMPACT®, which allows asset managers measuring and mitigating the carbon risk of their investments;
- Carbon Portfolio Audits, which allow asset managers to compare a portfolio's carbon risk with its benchmark.
