First report of the Carbon Disclosure Project on climate change for Switzerland
12/6/2007
Major findings of the Carbon Disclosure Project survey on Switzerland were presented yesterday in Geneva by Centre Info managing director, Philippe Spicher. Sponsored by Pictet Asset Management and the Ethos Foundation, this survey was conducted by Centre Info and reports on the global warming strategies of the 50 biggest companies listed on the Swiss stock exchange.
The study shows that most companies started to integrate climate change issues into their global strategies. It appears that most company efforts focus on sole production processes rather than the whole value chain of the companies. The attendance, composed of 350 executives from the business and finance community, as well as representatives from authorities and NGOs, could listen to speeches of, among others, James Cameron, President of the Carbon Disclosure Project, Paul Polman, CFO of Nestlé, and Robert Cramer, State minister of the Canton of Geneva.
